There’s nothing more inspiring than kids’ giving spirits. Children remind us that no matter your age, your abilities, or your means, you can always find a way to help others. This month at Monkey Joe’s Pineville, kids and families can help fund childhood cancer research by donating to the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemons Aid

Alexandra Scott was diagnosed with with neuroblastoma before her first birthday. By age four, she was well acquainted with doctors, hospitals, and her fellow patients in the childhood ward. A brave and giving girl, Alex decided she wanted to help kids like herself have a fighting chance. With the help of her brother and a lemonade stand in the front yard, she raised $2000 for childhood cancer research in just one day. Although Alex passed away a few years later, her legacy continues to impact children fighting this disease. During her life she raised over a million dollars to childhood cancer research. Continuing her legacy, her family created the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding research, education, and finding a cure for childhood cancer. It has raised over $140 million dollars to give aid to kids and families affected by childhood cancer.

How Kids in Pineville Can Help

Monkey Joe’s proudly partners with Alex’s Lemonade Stand every June. Throughout the month we will be accepting donations to the foundation. Everyone who donates will receive a free cup of lemonade and a lemon with their name on our wall. You can also purchase a cup of lemonade from our lemonade stand. 10% of all lemonade stand proceeds will go to support the ALSF.
