Stay “Cool” This Summer With Trips to Monkey Joe’s in Pineville, NC

Posted on Jul 18, 2016

Have a safe and fun summer at Monkey Joe's Pineville.

This summer has been filled with so many wonderful memories that we can’t believe we are already halfway through July! Time sure does fly by when you are having fun! If you’re like most families, you probably have a family getaway planned as the last few weeks of summer are approaching. Because we want all of our friends to have a fun, safe vacation season, Monkey Joe’s in Pineville has put together a few tips to keep you and your family safe during your outside travels. From our bouncy jungle to playing in the sand, here are 3 tips to staying safe and cool during your summer activities!

Stay hydrated- Whether you’re at a beach or playing at Monkey Joe’s bouncy jungle, remember to take frequent water breaks to rehydrate the kids. It is recommended that children 8 and under drink at least 5 glasses (1 litre) of water per day and 9-12 year olds should be consuming at least 7 glasses (1.5 litres) per day. Make sure your kiddos drink extra water if they are participating in physical activities that are causing them to sweat.

Wear sunscreen- Exposure to the sun can add up over time. Help lower your family’s risk of skin cancer by always applying sunscreen 30 minutes before heading outside. Sunscreen with SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 30, preferably higher, is best to use. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to forgotten areas like your nose, ears, lips, and scalp. Hats are another way to protect against burns.

Inside playtime- UV (ultraviolet) rays are the strongest and most harmful between the hours of 12pm and 4pm. Instead of risking playtime in the dangerous heat, bring the kids indoors to Monkey Joe’s indoor playground in Pineville! Kids can zoom down our inflatable slides, tumble around in our bounce houses and race through our obstacle courses with old and new friends! Our jungle is a great place for kids to socialize with other children their age, while playing in a safe, clean, indoor environment.
